ADS 4D/BPS 3D correspondence

Affleck, Harvey, and Witten showed that on pure Coulomb branches of 3D SUSY gauge theories non-perturbative contributions to the superpotential can only come single BPS monopole effects. I will describe how on mixed Coulomb branches there can be multi-monopole terms. These effects also occur on R^3 x S^1, and by decompactifying one gets a new derivation of the Affleck-Dine-Seiberg superpotential in 4D.
